Experience

Operations, technology, quality, and digital transformation across biotechnology organizations.

My executive experience spans biotechnology strategy, CDMO operations, quality systems, biologics manufacturing, commercial execution, board partnership, and digital transformation. The through-line is cross-functional leadership: connecting the parts of an organization that must work together for science to become reliable execution.

January 2026–Present

Chief Technology Officer

Cell Culture Company (formerly Biovest International) | Shoreview, MN

Lead enterprise technology strategy and digital transformation for a biologics CDMO. Focused on building practical tools and systems that reduce manual work, improve decision-making, and connect quality, operations, and commercial execution.

  • Built Python-based ERP automation for purchase order processing, cutting processing time by roughly 50%.
  • Developed an AI-powered vendor pricing agent that compares negotiated pricing across suppliers and recommends purchasing adjustments based on actual patterns.
  • Driving the roadmap and system integration design for the C3 Platform, an enterprise operations platform spanning multiple business functions.
  • Automated board-level reporting by building tools that pull from disparate data sources, eliminating manual compilation.
  • Restructured Google Ads from a misallocated configuration to a focused B2B search strategy targeting niche life-science buyers, significantly improving conversion volume, cost per conversion, and qualified lead quality year over year.
  • Implemented offline conversion tracking and a Qualified Lead conversion action to enable meaningful ROI measurement for the first time.
  • Deployed Claude Team (Anthropic AI) company-wide and managed adoption across the organization.
October 2019–January 2026

Chief Executive Officer

Cell Culture Company (formerly Biovest International) | Coon Rapids / Shoreview, MN

Led corporate strategy, P&L, and full operational and commercial accountability for a biologics CDMO. Redirected strategy, rebuilt quality infrastructure, led the company through COVID-19 disruption and post-pandemic normalization, launched a third business division, and completed a full GMP facility relocation before transitioning to CTO in January 2026.

  • Grew revenue 61% and expanded gross margins by 27 percentage points in the first two years by refocusing strategy on the company's core Bioservices and Instruments divisions.
  • Sustained profitability in five of six years as CEO; net income improved roughly 10x from the pre-CEO baseline at peak.
  • Led a full GMP facility relocation from a 33,000 sq ft building in Coon Rapids to a 21,000 sq ft purpose-built space in Shoreview, on time and under a $1.3M budget, without disrupting customer operations or regulatory compliance.
  • Launched Cell Line Development as a third business division, expanding commercial scope and service portfolio.
  • Partnered with the Board of Directors and ownership on strategic priorities, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
  • Reshaped organizational structure and leadership accountabilities to improve cross-functional execution and decision-making.
